Hi

I want to add a SPF record and used the setup wizard: http://old.openspf.org/wizard.html
Getting the result that I should add the following:

'domain.tld:v=spf1 a mx ~all:3600
'mail.domain.tld:v=spf1 a -all:3600

It is no problem to add a TXT value for mail.domain.tld but when leaving the name input field blank for the TXT value of domain.tld I get the error that data (name field) is been missing.

Is there a solution or workaround?

Thanks!

Edit: The SPF value is set right when using the spf template while creating new zone. But I couldn't find a way to add it to existing zones.

SPF records work just fine. You'll have to post exactly what you are trying to enter as the inputs in the Nictool fields. Then someone can tell you where the problem is.

Hi Matt

Thanks for your reply.
I checked it again it works.

When changing the type from A to TXT the domain value at the end of the input field doesn't change and so I thought that I have to leave the input field empty the geat the "domain.tld:v=spf1 a mx ~all:3600" entry.
But what I had to do is the enter the FQDN in the input field.

I'm happy that it works!

Hi Torusturtle,

issue solved or still open? When I read it I thought "Is it can be that he don't know about the @?" If wanting to add records for just the zone-name, use @ as placeholder in the field.
If yours is another issue, please ignore this hint.

Bye,
