/usr/local/etc/rc.d/ what scripts are necessary?

Seems that the latest toaster is starting clamav and spamd via etc/rc.conf? Does this mean that scripts for them are unneccessary in /usr/local/etc/rc.d ??

/etc/rc.conf sets flag variables used by other rc files (including the ones in /usr/local/etc/rc.d and also the system rc file in /etc).  It doesn't do anything by itself.
