Who was user 501, and why does www/data install with it as owner, and some of the stuff in it?

I write all my software on my Mac, before it gets tested and implemented on FreeBSD systems, and sometimes Linux. It really doesn't matter what UID those files are owned by on your server, so long as they aren't editable by user www or nobody. Change them to your UID if it pleases you.
