pid 91020 (simscan), uid 1002: exited on signal 11

Hi

The server was perfectly running several domain for several month (Linux/Postfix/Cyrus solution with a 2 or 3 year uptime), I upgraded it to Toaster last month and have several simscan processes which die every hour with this sort of logs :


May 24 10:30:59 mail kernel: pid 91020 (simscan), uid 1002: exited on signal 11
May 24 10:30:59 mail kernel: pid 91021 (simscan), uid 1002: exited on signal 11
May 24 10:31:05 mail kernel: pid 91046 (simscan), uid 1002: exited on signal 11
May 24 10:31:51 mail kernel: pid 91176 (simscan), uid 1002: exited on signal 11

I know the signal 11 troubleshooting guides which are 90.. 95% hardware issues, but it's hard for me to accept that only simscan has trouble....
Any advice would be appreciated,

Simscan is pretty small and lightweight, but it does run in the pipeline of some heavyweights that it triggers, such as ClamAV and SpamAssassin. If you aren't running those both as daemons, then simscan may be running out of memory and that will yield errors that look like a crashing process. Try bumping up the smtpd memory limits.
