simscan question

I know there will be a simple answer for this.. unfortunately I haven't been able to find it yet..

I'm trying to get a newly setup toaster to scan for viruses on incoming email  from what I can understand from the documentation that is done by using

submit_qmail_queue             = /var/qmail/bin/simscan

inside the /usr/local/etc/toast-watcher.conf
I originally had the qmail-queue there but now that I've changed it I'm seeing no difference at all and I can't find in any documentation how to make the change in the file actually happen.

any help on this would be most helpful, I'm quite prepared to basically uninstall everything and start all over again but if I can do it without going to that extreme it would be a lot easier..

I thought now that I finally worked it out I'd say how I did it since I'm sure at some point there's going to be someone who gets stumped on such a minor thing

I had to uncomment a line in ~vpopmail/etc/tcp.smtp
then run qmailctl cdb

and then it was all good
