Nictool Migration

I've had a nictool setup running for many months now; and under that setup I've created a subgroup for myself with nameservers, users, more subgroups, and almost 100 domains with countless records.

This exists with another group at the same level of it which must stay -- however I now want to move my entire subgroup tree, its users, and all entries to my own nictool setup.

After trying to blindly copy database tables a few times now -- I've come to realize just how much the tables reference one another (rightly so)

What might the recommended migration be from this one nictool setup to the other (I have a feeling I'm going to hear 'use the API to write a tool to do it') -- If I were going for the by hand option, even massaging a few mysql table entries -- what might the recommended course of action be in that case?

If it were me, I would do a wholesale dump of the entire nictool database that has your sub-tree of data .. make your new install use that data verbatim from your old database .. fire up your fresh nictool install with a copy of the old data .. then remove all of the records/groups/whatever that you don't need.

That worked Wink

In other news, just got another server and noticed that their provider uses nictool: http://nictool.layeredtech.com" target="_blank">http://nictool.layeredtech.com
