Title: Importing Question
Post by: awswired on September 29, 2005, 11:52:48 AM
Hello,

We have 3 djbdns servers and we have NicTool v2.03 installed. (Very nice and thanks!)

Can I import all zone/resource info from existing data files?
If so, is there a script?

Thanks,
Dee

I have an import script, and there's one floating around on this forum as well. I haven't used the one on the forum, but mine works quite well. However, it's not user friendly. It must be manually edited and requires manually mucking around in the database to set things up.  As such, it's not "available" except as a service. If you have NicTool all set up, it won't take more than an hour or two to import all your domains.

Thanks Matt,

We have set it up and manually added the zones & resources by hand so far so we'll be testing Nictool soon.

Very nice work Smile

I've just installed nictool on a dev box here, it is nice. But we really aren't in a position to re-enter in 10,000 domains.. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those import from tinydns scripts..

If not I guess we'll just have to write something to do the importing.
