Title: DNS Zones
Post by: btsteve on July 02, 2004, 07:17:12 AM
OK i am almost ready to make my server live, but i have a few dns questions.

I have domain1.com, domain2.com, domain3.com, etc....

currently i have mx1.new-server.com, do i need to just create the domains, and place the mx record to point to mx1.new-server.com?

and how do i make sure the addresses leaving the server is username@domain2.com, username@domain1.com, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, i need to turn this live next week.

In the dns records for each domain, yes you would create a MX record pointing to the mail server.  The mail server name doesn't have to be in the same domain.  For example, microsoft.com could have an mx record pointing all mail to mail.yahoo.com.

To create multiple domains in mail toaster, consult Matt's documentation:
