Hello I've been looking for an answer to my problem for over a week now and I cant find it. I hope you guys can help me.
I have set up qmail toaster in a RH9 machine. everything seems to be normal but the smtp service.
when I try to telnet my machine as localhost to port 25, it connects but if i do it from the outside, it doest.
there's no firewall or anythinbg like that. the weird thing also is that I can connect to pop3 from the outside but not smtp.

There's no magic in there, if it works locally, it should work remotely. However, it's quite possible that your ISP has blocked port 25.
