What is ripmime?

From the ripmime web site:

• ripMIME has a single sole pupose, to extract the attached files out of a MIME package (as say produced by programs such as AMaViS, Inflex and Xamime). ripMIME deliberately has no other operating purpose (if you find another use, then that's great)

Ripmime is installed as a dependency of simscan (unless specified otherwise).

Ripmime is chewing up my CPU! What do I do?

I've seen this issue a number of times and it's typically a FreeBSD system using an old version of ripmime from FreeBSD ports. Go download and install the latest version.

How do I build simscan w/o ripmime?

Set these two settings:

• simscan_ripmime = 0
• simscan_block_attachments = 0
